Thanks a lot! This worked perfectly and your instructions were really helpful. Would it be possible for you to also provide a similar guide to reinstalling the stock Gingerbread ROM? I'm having trouble with reverting, as a factory reset simply takes me to the newly installed ICS interface, albeit with the menu back in the default Chinese script along with all the other default settings.

I'm pretty sure it would, but I'd say its a bad idea. Lots of issues with the ICS upgrade because the Hong Kong/Chinese version doesnt include the typical Google features and none of the Gapps available are perfect. If you want to try it out, just make sure you have a copy of the stock ROM to flash it later if you're not happy.
In addition, you wont be able to revert to your stock GB directly. You cant really downgrade directly, but apparently you can downgrade to the Chinese GB & after that you'll be able to flash your stock GB ROM. Just learned about this on XDA, but haven't tried it out myself.
